Opening the Umnumzaan
You just pulled your Umnumzaan fresh out of the box, go to open it and... "Hold on, why isn't it opening?" It feels stiff and may even require you to open it with two hands. Maybe it's your first or your 5th CRK - either way, the action feels different on this knife. What's going on?
First, open and close the knife, even if it's with both hands, to help lube up the pivot assembly. If you still cannot open it with one hand, double check your finger placement on the knife.
Make sure your fingers (especially your index finger) are not pushing hard against the lock bar on the other side. Slide your thumb along the chamfer, pushing forward rather than sideways on the bottom of the thumb lug...
The blade will pivot around to lock in the open position. It may take a couple of times to get the hang of it, but once you do, the action should be smooth.
If the action still doesn't improve after a bit of use, feel free to reach out to us for additional help!
