+ I want to order a knife. When will I receive it?
We operate on a back order, so depending on the model and customization options chosen, the lead times will vary. In general, fixed blades are about 6-12 weeks, folders with plain titanium handles are about 3 months, folders with inlays or graphic are about 6-9 months, and folders with Damascus blades are about 9-12 months.
+ I think I have a warranty related issue.
We are unable to determine warranty by phone or email. You will have to send your knife into our shop for us to inspect it. Once we have seen the knife in person, we will know more as to what is going on and how to address the issue. If you believe your issue to be warranty, please fill out the section provided for warranty on the service form.
+ I have an issue with my knife that has occurred overtime or recently after taking it apart,
and reassembly is not correcting it.

If you are still having issues, we will happily service your knife. Generally we are able to address and correct issues by cleaning and tuning the knife. If cleaning and tuning resolve the issue, there is no charge for the service as it will be included as part of your warranty services. + I need/want my knife sooner, is there anything I can do?”
+ I want to engrave my knife. Where do I start?

We machine engrave on plain titanium knives on the front or the back handle. Front handles may have up to 20 characters. If you'd like to engrave the space above the lock bar on the back handle, we can engrave up to 14 characters. We engrave with the standard English alphabet and engravings must be deemed appropriate at the discretion of Chris Reeve Knives.
We cannot engrave on any knives with an inlay.
Turn around time is usually about about 3 months. Please note that payment is due when the order is placed.
+ I lost my wrench, what size do I need?
All of our folding knives come with a 5/64" wrenches. Knives from the Inkosi, Umnumzaan, and TiLock families also require 1/8" wrenches. You can find replacements at your local hardware store or contact customer service.
+ I stripped my screws! Can I get replacements?
Replacement hardware may be ordered directly from Chris Reeve Knives web store.
+ How often should I clean my knife?
It's good to clean your knife from time to time and make sure there is no built up of dirt around the pivot and lock area. If you use the knife around a particularly corrosive substance - acid food (oranges, tomatoes, etc), blood, salt water, be sure to wash it off in fresh water and lubricate the pivot.
We recommend using our specially formulated Fluorinated Grease or a high quality gun oil to lubricate the pivot - you should only need a drop or two.
It is not recommended that you alter the tension of the locking bar - we set it at a balance between ease of opening and safety. You don't want your knife opening in your pocket!

+ I'm in Boise, can I stop by the shop for a tour?
We'd love to see you! Tours are usually about 30 minutes and we're open Monday - Thursday. The best times to show up are between 9am - 11:30am, and 1pm - 5pm. We ask that you give us 30 minutes heads up by calling the shop (208) 375 - 0367.

Yes! We offer 10% off to Military and First Responders.
+ Are blades interchangeable?
No. Each blade is individually hand fit to specific handles. Swapping blades will affect the tolerance between the blade, washers, bushing, and lock arm. We do not recommend ever swapping blades, as it can create an unsafe lock up, even if it doesn’t feel like it. We will not provide any services for a knife that does not have the original blade installed.
+ Did the RC change?
Yes, the RC on the folding knives was changed in mid-2013 from 58-59RC to 59-60RC. However, we did not reflect this change in our literature until September of 2015. Chris came to this decision after reviewing the performance of S35VN at both hardnesses. While he had always been an advocate of slightly lower RC, to ensure shock absorbency and ease of sharpening, over the duration of the testing, he was convinced that blades at 59-60RC would perform extremely well and meet all of his criteria. The change was then gradually implemented in mid-2013. Please keep in mind when changing the RC from 58-59RC to 59-60RC, it has a possible spread of only 3% and a likely change of only 1%, so it's not a major change at all.
+ What kind of lubrication should I use for my pivot?
Should you wish to lubricate the pivot, use a Teflon lubricant- our Fluorinated Grease is recommended for this purpose.
+ Why can't I purchase a knife on your web store?
+ My knife is modified, how does this affect my warranty and what services will CRK provide?
The warranty is void if a knife has been modified outside of our shop. If you submit a claim to CRK in which repairs fall outside of warranty, CRK will, at its option, repair the CRK Product using new parts at your expense plus the cost of shipping. Unless the CRK Product is brought back to factory standards, we will no longer be able to provide servicing.
+ I live outside of the USA and need to send my knife in for repair. Where do I start?
