As a Chris Reeve Knives CNC Programmer/Machinist, you will have a diverse and enriching experience from the get-go. Your job will entail producing precision machined parts, while working with design, product development, and production side of a veteran knife manufacturing company. You will work hands-on in product development, blade, handle, and hardware production, and work with cross functional teams in communications, marketing, sales, design, and production. The job is a full-time position, based in Boise, and designed for those who are interested in a truly comprehensive business experience.
Professional level: expert
Software expertise or competency: Mastercam, Solidworks, Esprit
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Generating programs for mills and lathes utilizing Mastercam software for CNC mills and Esprit software for lathes
Selecting tool paths, cutters, speeds and feeds for optimum machining performance
Performing tasks using engineered drawings and Solidworks solid models
Knowledge and understanding of GD&T
Developing and maintaining program and tool libraries
Setting-up and operating CNC machining centers for prototypes, fixture production, etc.
Strong mechanical aptitude
Properly measuring and inspecting machined parts using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, depth mic’s, etc.
Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
Willingness to work overtime as workload demands

Mastercam expertise, Solidworks competency, Esprit competency, conceptual skills, verbal communication, functional and technical skills, controls and instrumentation, tooling, coordination, attention to detail, good judgment.
